Terms of Service
Last updated: 13 March 2026
These terms govern your use of PaperFree. By creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't sign up. It's that simple.
What PaperFree does
PaperFree links your email address to a tokenised reference of your payment card. When you pay at a participating merchant, the merchant can send your receipt to your email instead of printing it. We facilitate this connection — we don't process payments, issue receipts, or handle transactions.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age in your jurisdiction) to use PaperFree. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the payment card you register is yours or that you are authorised to use it.
Your account
- You are responsible for providing an accurate, working email address. If your email is incorrect, receipts cannot be delivered.
- You may link multiple cards to the same email address.
- You are responsible for keeping your email account secure. PaperFree is not liable for receipts delivered to a compromised inbox.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Register payment cards that are stolen, fraudulent, or that you are not authorised to use.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to create accounts or interact with the service.
- Attempt to access other users' data or interfere with the operation of the service.
- Use PaperFree for any purpose other than receiving digital receipts.
Service availability
PaperFree is provided on a best-effort basis. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Receipt delivery depends on merchant participation and their systems — we cannot guarantee that every transaction will generate a digital receipt.
We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or security reasons. We'll try to give advance notice when possible, but this isn't always feasible.
Limitation of liability
PaperFree is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for missed, delayed, or incorrectly delivered receipts.
- We are not liable for any actions taken by participating merchants with your email address.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service (which is zero — PaperFree is free for consumers).
Termination
By you: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through our self-service deletion page. No notice period, no questions asked.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, particularly the acceptable use section. We'll notify you by email if we do so, unless the violation requires immediate action.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes that affect your rights, we'll notify you via the email address linked to your account at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of PaperFree shall be resolved in the courts of Sweden.
